You may have seen her at the 52nd Annual NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner, the LINKS National Convention, the 2006 Detroit Mayoral Inauguration, before keynote speakers Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, former President William J. Clinton, Governor Jennifer Grandholm, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Tavis Smiley, Rev. Louis Farrakhan, at the wedding celebration of Rev. Wendell and Monica Anthony and a host of other local, regional and nationally recognized events. She's sung with gospel, classical and community award winning choirs and appears on stage and screen. From music to acting to multi-media expression, Linda Boston will leave you with something to intuit. The message is the POWER OF BEING, YOU AND THE CREATIVITY WITHIN. She's a songstress on a journey. With the release of her debut CD "Permission: The Power of Being" she is inviting all along. "Permission" is produced by world-renowned producer, composer and Multi-Platinum Smooth Jazz artist, Randy Scott, Jerome Harvey of Harvey Industries and MAAT Productions, LLC. The album is a blend of gospel and inspirational jazz. It is the first of a three-part series. Born in Chicago, Illinois to a singing family of five. She earned her undergraduate degree in broadcasting from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich. While working as primary female voice over talent and broadcast law director at WJR Radio, she began working on her acting career. Linda has been recognized for her portrayal in two of the nation's most produced plays; "Crowns" by Regina Taylor ("Mother Shaw" Alabama Shakespeare Festival Theater) and her most recent appearances as "Power/Professional Woman" in the internationally acclaimed "Menopause The Musical" at The Gem and Century Theater produced by TOC Productions and a requested performer by Pearl Cleage in her debut staged read of "The Nacirema Society" produced at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Linda has performed in some of the nation's most distinguished venues and received numerous awards such as the Best Actress award given by the Detroit Repertory Theater. She has received a "Best Actress" nomination from the Detroit Free press for her legendary portrayal as Jackie "Moms" Mabley in the one woman show "Moms Mabley: The Naked Truth" and as Ella Fitzgerald in "How High The Moon". Linda 's legendary experience includes working with world renowned artists, musicians and dancers including Marcus Belgrave, appearing on Wendell Harrison's newly released album "It's About Damn Time", performances with Pamela Wise and Ortheia Barnes-Kennerly. She has worked with world renowned actors including Tommy Ford, Terri Britton, Sigorney Weaver, Roger G. Smith, N'Bushe Wright, Ray Liotta, Benicio Del Toro, Tamela Mann, Richard D. Jewell, Harry Lennix, Wood Harris and the late, great and internationally known artists DAVID BLAIR, BELITA WOODS AND WHITNEY HOUSTON. Additionally, she has appeared in numerous regional and national TV and radio commercials and industrial films. Her film credits include "Sparkle", "Street Kings 2", "Prayers for Bobby", "Alleged", "Jimmy Picard" and "Beyond the Mask" and her list keeps growing and growing AND GROWNING (visit her IMDB.COM page).
