James does a very good job of reading the audience and playing songs to get them going. He performed as he claimed with minimal set up and breakdown. His volume was perfect.

We had James play our wedding reception and honestly wish we hadn't. We asked him to learn one song for the father/bride dance and he only sang about half the words. He also took an extreme amount of breaks. He does play well when he decides to play and they are songs he knows. He also asked my groom for the "other half of payment" at the end of the reception; which we had paid in full several months earlier. Overall we were so disappointed.

James arrived on time. He was efficient in setting up his equipment, respectful, congenial and eager to please asking for our input and requests. His sound system was excellent, lighting was delightful and some thought his vocals had to be lip-synched. The floor was crowded for most of his selections. Sensing the mood of the crowd James ended the night with a rendition of “God Bless the USA” which brought the crowd to their feet, forming a circle and joining hands. All enjoyed the evening. We would recommend James for future events.

Fantastic entertainment and musician. We loved having him, and he put his own very tasteful twist to every song. We will have him back to do our next party. I had several people say he was fantastic afterwards, and can't say enough. Thanks again

We had James Blain for our New Year's Eve dance. He played a wide variety of music from current to oldies and a lot of requests. He was very good and everyone danced and even those who don't dance said they enjoyed the music. He has a very extensive play list that could please almost anyone. He exceeded my expectations.

James was absolutely fabulous. Arrived well early, set up quickly and was ready long before guests arrived. He was just great to work with, it was obvious he is a true professional at his craft. Every single one of my guests complimented him on his amazing range. We had a wide age difference at the gathering, everyone was thrilled with his performance. I would hire him again in a heartbeat! James did an excellent job at our Country Club's "Summer Splash Sunday" pool event. He played a variety of music that our demographic thoroughly enjoyed - I even had people come up to me the next day asking if he would be back. I highly recommend!

James was extremely accommodating with our event. He played for a 50th anniversary party and the guests had been invited to bring their own instruments for an informal fiddle and guitar jam. James did a wonderful job of playing his own music, but also including the jammers and playing along with them. He was a great sport and a really nice guy. He learned all the special request songs we asked for, and he specifically tailored the music to the event. He is a great guitarist and I would highly recommend him for any event where you need a flexible, fun, and entertaining performer!

Many Thanks to Jim Blain for his talent and professionalism for our son's 30th surprise party! He was absolutely wonderful. It was a pleasure watching everyone participate by dancing to the music including our five grandchildren from age 2 to 9. A great time was had by all. James was a true gentleman. We gave him a list of titles/composers that we wanted him to sing/play prior to the party and he aced everything. Our 6 year old grandson even got up with him and sang a song. A great guy. James arrived an hour before the event. He was polite and professional. His voice and guitar playing is incredible! He played a wide variety of music which everyone enjoyed from young to old. He really knows how to get people dancing and singing. I wouldn't hesitate use him again and i highly recommend him. Everyone had a great time.
