Hello! My name is Briana. I'm a speaker, comedian, writer, actress, teacher, author, improviser, goofball and overall enthusiastic human being. And I would LOVE to meet you!
I also LOVE exclamation points! So my apologies in advance!!!
I'm excellent at entertaining and teaching in all sorts of ways to all sorts of communities in all sorts of environments. All sorts!
I am now based in LA but willing to travel anywhere because traveling is fun. Plus, I get to make new friends!
I've always had a creative mind and overly-active imagination. I was lucky enough to learn to harness it at a young age and to learn how to use it for good instead of evil. I have studied at every major comedy institution you've heard of and many you have not. Right out of college, I was hired by my university to teach improvisation and comedy as adjunct faculty. I began teaching all around the Midwest to schools and corporations alike, using my knowledge and passion for comedy as a tool for connecting and improving communication (and a general fun atmosphere) to help people improve their business and their lives. It's fun and fulfilling and I'm proud to do it and grateful to be good at it.
Work-wise, I've done tons of entertainment events. I emceed at the biggest tourist venue in Chicago for years, in addition to being an interactive character performer. I continued to teach and train all over while simultaneously producing and touring with my own creative projects. I also pride myself on working towards being balanced and doing my best to use my words and my actions to inspire others. I love speaking to all types of crowds on how creativity and comedy have had active roles in my own journey towards a happier, balanced more passionate self.
I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. I went to Xavier University where I graduated with an honors degree in Philosophy, Politics and the Public. I took a year to teach and perform improvisation and sketch comedy in Cincinnati, Ohio, traveled a bit then moved to Chicago. There, I studied improvisation at The Second City, iO Chicago and The Annoyance Theater and performed wherever I could. I created a solo show Femoir, which I produced nationally at various comedy and fringe festivals and at The Second City Chicago. I still perform Femoir regularly and produce in podcast form. After a few years (and too many winters) in Chicago, I made the big move to Los Angeles, California to make my dreams a reality. I studied at The Groundlings and UCB theaters, and now perform in all sorts of roles regularly all over LA.
In my “spare time,” I produced and starred in a web-series called “The Other Client List,” I wrote a book called “Cartoon Confessions,” I wrote and produced a weird comedic character documentary called “Meet Zee,” I'm in post-production for a comedy western pilot I also wrote/produced/star in called “The West Files” I do stand up comedy, and I'm always working on various other creative projects and shows.
I also write for a lady-centric online magazine called and was featured in their first book “Thriving in Hollywood” published in December of 2014.
I have lots more to say, but if you've read this far, surely you could just contact me and we could discuss it face to face and save ourselves all a little time and typing :)
