Updated 7-20-17 - Most Entertainment companies are like vultures. If you have a Wedding, for example the average base rate is anywhere from 75 to 100 or more. Now if you tell an entertainment company I need a DJ for my wedding that I am having at my local community center or church, then you might get the 75 dollar an hour rate. If you tell them you are having your wedding reception at the Houstonian, these same companies see dollar signs and you might pay as much as 2 or more hundred dollars and hour just because they know you got it to spend (The bigger companies are bad about this). With me I keep the same exact rates. Whether your Bill Gates or that single parent that just wants her daughter to have the best sweet 16 ever, whether I play for you at the Houstonian for you or I play in your house, you will be treated equally. I will go out of my way to work with you and make sure your event goes off without a hitch and you have the BEST DAY EVER. I have worked for some of the largest entertainment companies in Houston and decided almost 20 years ago to go it on my own because of the unethical practice of these companies. When you hire me you will get someone with a passion for Music which is rare into today's market. The average person that runs an entertainment company today goes to Craigslist and buys a pirated copy of music for about 200 bucks that has both Karaoke and DJ music, buys the cheapest equipment out there and then goes real cheap on his or her price so you book them, in essence putting your event in jeopardy. In one case I actually attended a wedding where the DJ ran his show from his IPHONE and a home audio stereo system. Beware of Craigslist and those adds that say they will do your party for a hundred bucks. Beware of those companies where they claim to be the best there is or a DJ God, King of Karaoke etc etc. I've heard and seen it all. These aren't good marketing tactics in fact the simple truth still remains that the owner of these kind of companies has an ego that is more important than your event. I speak from experience.
