WPO combines the traditional sounds of Balkan and klezmer music with booming beats of the present. The resulting sound contains sparks of magic, strains from the past, and grooves that shake the dance floor all night long. Whatever your celebration style, WPO will fit right in. We have brought our special brand of party to every type of venue– from cookouts in shabby-chic barns and colorful circus tents, to formal affairs in hip downtown restaurants and elegant marble halls. We customize the band size to best fit the demands of the occasion and your budget. Some examples include: - Full 12 piece brass band with vocalist, 2 drummers, tuba, trumpets, etc. - Pocket-sized 6 piece with trumpet, saxophone, tuba, drums and 2 baritones - Mini-klezmer unit with clarinet, trumpet, keyboards and drums. - cocktail hour duos/jazz trios/folk rock quartet for ceremony/etc. We also play jazz and klezmer – as anyone who’s ever danced one of our epic horas will tell you, our klezmer sets match the energy of our famous Balkan dance parties. And many of our musicians come from jazz backgrounds, so we switch into New Orleans funk, dixieland, or jump swing on the dime.
