The Getdown is 5 passionate talented guys who's main priority is to make people dance. Our mission is to provide energy and excitement for your guests with songs that keep everyone on the floor for the entire night. We do play some of the staple songs that you would expect however, we also add a unique niche that we feel most "traditional" wedding bands are missing. We have a variety but tend to lean heavier from the 90's on. The three main categories we cover include Modern Dance Pop like Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Daft Punk, Pharrell. Old School Soul/Funk/Rock/Reggae with artists like James Brown, Rolling stones, Bob Marley, Bill Withers. The third category being 90's and today's hip hop from artists like Snoop Dogg, Outkast, Naughty By Nature (OPP) Young MC, Jay Z, Sugar Hill Gang (Rappers Delight). We are NOT the band you want if you want background music, and we are NOT the band you want if you are looking for classic rock tunes. We don't have a set suited for your dinner hour because we are there to make people dance HOWEVER, we do have a state of the art sound system complete with subwoofers and DJ capabilities. This allows us to play whatever you wish for you Dinner hour as well as between sets without your guests skipping a beat. If the night ends and you want the music to keep going arrangements can be made to keep our equipment around longer and you can keep spinning the dance tunes late into the night. When you hire us the bottom line is that you get a professional experience that includes over 15 years of live playing. We made a living playing clubs in the capital district for the past decade however, after several hugely successful weddings last year we are significantly reducing our club playing to make weddings our priority. Because we have less wedding exposure than some of our competitors in the area we come at a very good bargain this year. We love what we do and we understand what it takes to provide an experience that will have your guests telling everyone they know that your wedding was one of the best times they had every had!!!! That is what it's all about!!!!
