Funk City! …the FUNKIEST band out of Island Lake, Illinois, is THE choice for premiere entertainment for your wedding, reception, corporate event, festival, house warming, party or any special occasion. This six piece band of high energy musicians will get your guests on their feet movin' with the groovin' and reelin' with the feelin'! Funk City (formerly The Kool and The Funky Ones) features air-tight harmonies, hot lead vocals and a smoking rhythm section. Add to that mix our sizzling choreography and you've got yourself a party! We perform the greatest dance music of the decades from your favorite artists. Whether it's funk, soul, pop, classic rock, standards or even country, we bring the heat and deliver the best professional performance and then some! Enjoy the tunes from artists such as Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Boz Scaggs, Charlie Puth with Meghan Trainer, The Temptations, Daft Punk, Robin Thicke with Pharrell Williams, The Doobie Brothers, Marvin Gaye, Shania Twain, Stevie Wonder, Lakeside and more! If that isn't hot enough and you need that extra Special Spicy Sauce, we can bring our three piece horn section with us to get that full nine piece band sound (additional fee required)! We have professional PA equipment and a sound man if we are providing sound. And we can play anywhere because we also have a generator! You just have to let us know if there is power or not. Also, if you are providing sound, here are our requirements. If you don't have everything we need, let us know what you are lacking, and we can fill in the rest: 5 monitors 5 vocal mics 1 percussion mic 2 channels (pan L/R - Stereo) channels for keyboards 2 channels (pan L/R - Stereo) channels for guitars 1 channel for bass drum mics (minimum, kick drum) 6 vocal mic stands drum mic clips/stands (If outside, a tent covering the artists/equipment and a flat dry surface such as a deck, stage, etc) We have performed at the Sunset Festival in Lake in the Hills, IL, Shamrocked Street Fest in Woodstock, IL, and the Lakeside Festival in Crystal Lake, IL. Also, we have played at such venues as Blue Chip and Grand Victoria casinos, The Listening Room, X-Factor, Offsides, DC Cobbs and various weddings and private events.
