Born in the summer of 2006 at Handy Park on Beale Street in Memphis TN, The Jimmy Hudson Band has had an incredible ride entertaining thousands of people in hundreds if not thousands of places. We are not your average band, we are the product of being lifelong Memphis Musicians who hold our musical pride as an homage to those great music pioneers putting blues and country on the map later forming Rock N Roll, Rockabilly, and Soul. In the summer of 2016 The Jimmy Hudson Band re-formed in Central Ohio after playing for many years headlining various venues on Beale Street, The Tunica Casinos, and throughout the Mid-South. Upon reforming Jimmy added an Ohio rhythm section including Don Blakely on Drums and Jeff Griffith on Bass. After many years as a 3 piece band, we have now added a young female vocalist that will knock the socks right off a rooster. In between National Tours where we have played shows with the likes of Montgomery Gentry, Little Texas, Black Oak Arkansas, Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Barkays, Bobby Blue Bland, Ben Cauley, Al Green, The Doobie Brothers, Travis Tritt, and Brett Michaels, too name a few. Every single time we open for one of these bands or play a show alongside of them we get praise and often invited on stage or they join us. We are that band that will provide exactly the show that is needed for you and most importantly your guest's needs. Jimmy is a proud son of Memphis and its rich musical heritage. The Memphis influence is deep. It's there in every note he plays and in how he connects with his audience. I've seen Jimmy win over a variety of audiences—bikers, country and blues fans, young folks attending their first show, oldsters who thought they were too cynical and faded to care about music go from watching without interest while they talked and drank, to paying closer attention to the music, to getting on their feet, moving with the groove. Knowing what we know about Jimmy and his music, my wife and I hired Jimmy and his band for a private party (our 10th anniversary). Our guests were friends, neighbors and family, a real mixture of folks—doctors, lawyers, corporate CEO's farmers, a mailman, a couple of talented musicians, retired cops. After only a few tunes, I heard the buzz from the crowd "Who is this guy? Where'd they get him? Where can we go to hear him again? Let's hire him for our next party!" I've seen hundreds of guitar players in my life in places from small juke joints in the Mississippi Delta, to legendary clubs in New Orleans, Chicago, California, Hawaii, Europe.
