In April 2011, Allison and Krystal Steel combined their love for singing to become the country music duo, 2Steel Girls. They performed their first show at the legendary Bluebird Cafe' in Nashville, TN. And that decision has turned out to be more influential in their career and lives than either of them could have imagined.
Less than 12 months after their first show, talent scouts found the duo online via YouTube and scheduled them for a private audition for NBC's, The Voice. The girls battled their way past 45,000 Voice hopefuls and landed in the top 64 contestants when they were selected by Blake Shelton, country music's 2012 'Entertainer of The Year'. 2Steel Girls go down in history as the first mother-daughter duo to ever compete on The Voice.
Some amazing doors have opened for the duo since The Voice. In November 2012 the girls were contacted by the Hallmark Channel's, Home & Family Show and invited to perform their Blind Audition song, 'Before He Cheats' on the show in January 2013. And in February 2013, 2Steel Girls started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for their debut CD, 'Train Wreck'. In just 30 days fans funded the project at 150%!
In March 2013 something completely unexpected happened. Allison casually mentioned on Facebook that 2Steel Girls would love to perform on the Today Show. A Facebook fan they did not know saw the post and started a fan page called, “Get 2Steel Girls on the Today Show”. In just 8 days over 1,000 2Steel Girls fans had joined the page and began petitioning the Today Show requesting the show invite the girls to perform. Within 3 weeks Today Show producers contacted the girls and asked them to perform on their Mother's Day special. So on May 10, 2013 the independent artists released their debut single, 'Train Wreck' on the Today Show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.
On August 10th, 2013 the duo released their debut CD, 'Train Wreck'. There has been an overwhelming positive response and excitement about this project. Not only is it a great album, but the girls wrote and co-wrote every song!
Garnering the support of Blake Shelton and The Voice, 2Steel Girls have been thrust into the spotlight.
