Hilary Marckx, songwriter One Man Band from Geyserville, CA

My act is a solo act and made up of songs stories, and performed as a vocal with an acoustic guitar and a harmonica. I play for 17+ audiences because some of my material is designed for an adult crowd. I do not perform dance music per se, though people do dance to many of my songs. I think of this as listening music. I place a high value on my words and their delivery. I am a songwriter. I perform original material that has been called, "Original Americana," "Country Boogie," and it is styled after the original Rockabilly and Honky-Tonk of the 1950s and 1960s. The delivery is dynamic, intense, and laid back following the nature of the songs performed. I like to have fun. Sometimes my songs are serious and warm and heartfelt ballads, but for the most part they are fun and lively, and bring laughter. They have a strong well-defined beat. I do a very few cover songs, but they are from the 1930s - 1950s.
