Amanda Jones & the Family Band is fronted by Amanda Jones whose powerful belting vocals have undoubtedly been the key to the band success. From her original material through various popular covers, when Amanda takes the stage, the audience can't help but sit up and take notice. Her strong vocals and commanding stage presence demand attention. Amanda recorded her 4 song EP, Life Is What You Make It, in NE Ohio in the summer of 2013 and her full length CD, The Road Less Traveled, recorded in Nashville, was just released January 2016. A 2015 Biochemistry graduate from The University of Mount Union, Amanda continues to balance her time between featured songwriter nights in Nashville, writing new material for the next album, filming her upcoming music video, and gigging with The Family Band all over Ohio, PA, NY and West Virginia. Additional highlights among her lengthy resume include opening concerts for Marty Stuart, Molly Hatchet, and the Kentucky Headhunters; lead roles in numerous regional community musical theater productions; and performing "God Bless America" at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Brittany Fenstermaker, plays keys and sings backing vocals. Brittany has participated in many musicals, including many of the leading roles in shows such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Sound of Music and Les Miserables, which also earned her a Marquee Award nomination. She also has a deep and rich background in music as she has been classically trained in voice and studied Music and Theater at both Kent State and Malone Universities. Besides playing keyboard for The Family Band, she also serves as worship leader for Imago Dei Interim Ministry.
Brittany's husband, Nathan Fenstermaker plays bass, an instrument he picked up while he was visiting his grandpa. He has loved it ever since! Nathan was first chair in his primary instrument, trumpet, all through high school and college and has also participated in Honors Bands at YSU, Kent State and Malone Universities. He was also part of the choir at Malone and was involved in a Stomp group at Southeastern University. Nathan and Brittany share their lives with four year old son, Aaron and two year old daughter, Norah Joy!
Filling the role as one of the The Family Band's guitarists, technical director and manager, Michael Myhal is no stranger to the professional music scene. Michael has also performed with a number of bands over the years, including his 10 years of experience as worship music director, as well as being the owner/operator of his own recording studio.?
Frank McDougal has been playing drums since small child and in live bands since he was a young teenager. He has covered a wide range of styles including Classical to Grunge and everything in between. Frank comes from a family with a rich heritage in music; Father, uncles, aunts, grandparents; next time you see him, ask him about it and you will be amazed at the gene pool from which this guy came. Besides drums, Frank is also well versed on the Bass, Guitar, Accordion and vocals.
Akron native, David Frame is the newest member of the band, and covers most of the lead guitar work. Due to a death in his family, he inherited a guitar which sat idle for 3 years until he heard Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was at that moment he knew he had to give it a try and we are glad he did. They along with other blues, country and rock influences certainly show in his playing skills, however, he has come to enjoy playing all types of music. When he's not hanging out with the Family Band or working, David spends his time with his girlfriend and his dog….can't get much more country than that!?
Rounding out the Family Band Team are Rob Polivka, audio/sound technician; Becky Myhal, promotions and graphics; and Jonathan Rose, security and equipment; indispensable folks whose time and dedication to all of the other ancillary tasks necessary to run the organization are invaluable.
