Billy Bob Bohannon (performed by Dr. Bill King) is a clean comedian that is a story telling, song singing, instrument playing blast of enjoyment. Programs are tailored to fit your group or your wishes. He will do 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on what you want. He can do nothing but stories and funnies or nothing but music and songs. His typical program is a combination of the two interwoven. He writes most of my own material, including stories and songs, however he usually does a few cover songs too that the audience will recognize. Billy Bob's typical dress depends on the setting too. For casual events he may wear his red overalls or simply denim overalls. For banquets or more formal events, he has coats and ties but be warned nothing matches, either in color or pattern. And of course, he wears his trademark red and white dress shoes. If you want boring, he does have khaki slacks and a navy blazer. If you want him a tuxedo, well he doesn't have one and if he did it would probably be bright red.
Bill has used humor as a public speaker, which he has been for most of his adult life. He has performed as Billy Bob all across the southeast, as well as many other parts of the nation, since 2002. He has been a musician since childhood. He began playing guitar at the age of ten. He also plays harmonica, banjo, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, and a custom built commode seat guitar. He first began playing and singing the now classic rock songs of the 60s and 70s, as well as gospel. Many of those old tunes are reflected in his original music and some of them are even covered as they were or rewritten.
Bill is also a published author and writer. He is the author of three books of Billy Bob stories and humor, two Christian novels, and one illustrated children story. He writes a weekly newspaper column for the Saturday edition of the Opelika-Auburn News, as well a dozen other papers across Alabama. He is also the writer of more than 200 original songs and a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
Bill is a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham and holds masters and doctors degrees from New Orleans Baptist Seminary.
