Community EventReviewed on March 15, 2008From Beaufort, SC

Mama Peavy was a very nice lady. On the other hand I think that she should start looking into a another profession because she wasn't funny. Maybe because there was a younger crowd at my show. I think that older people would enjoy her more.

:

The organizer for this event did not choose the appropriate comedian for her age group. This is mainly due to the fact that she booked Comedian Mama Peavy five to six days before and without asking any questions regarding Mama Peavy's act. Mama Peavy assumed that the organizer viewed her website and got all the information she needed. Mama Peavy's act is for a more mature audience, 25 and older. To say the least, this audience was teens and young adults. The organizer should have chosen a younger more worldly comedian. The event was also delayed by almost two hours so Mama Peavy did not go on until after 9:00PM. The audience had been sitting and waiting.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on February 2, 2008From Douglasville, GA

I felt that Mama Peavy had to stick strickly to the story line. She was not good at people making comments back to her. She could not come back with material quick enough. Guest at my party started talking amongst themselves and tuning her out. She did not hold the attention of my guest. Not Mama Peavy's fault, but I also thought her storyline of finding a husband was not the perfect match for my guest, considering we were all married christians.

:

The birthday party honoree was hackling the comedian. The comedian could not properly get through her routine due to the loud outbursts and rudeness of one participant. Many people in the audience could not hear due to this and they began to become disinterested. After the show, several people said that thoroughly enjoyed the comedy despite the hackler.

I would like to personally thank Nicole and Mama Peavy for taking the time to visit our church to help make our Single's Hallelujah Happy Hour. Everyone is still talking about what a great time they had. I will recommend Mama Peavy to other organizations that will be seeking Christian comedy. It was truly a great experience. Thanks, Janee Vail Walking on Water Christian Church, Birmingham, Alabama
