Patrick Murray Opera Singer from Philadelphia, PA

Thank you for visiting my profile! I am a classically trained vocalist living in center city Philadelphia. Music is something very special to me and my ultimate goal make any piece I am singing a moving experience for the listener. I look forward to hearing from you! Bass-Baritone Patrick Murray is a native of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. In 2009 he graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Music degree. Under the auspices of a Fulbright Scholarship, Patrick moved to Vienna, Austria where he studied Mozart at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien singing the role of Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte. He recently spent the 2013 summer with Central City Opera's Apprentice Program where he covered Dr. Gibbs in Ned Rorem's Our Town. This past spring Mr. Murray sang Haydn's Die Jahreszeiten at Duke Chapel in Durham, North Carolina. The 2013 winter season was spent with Sarasota Opera as an Studio Artist covering the roles of La Rocca in Verdi's Un Giorno di Regno and Nourabad in Bizet's Les Pecheurs des Perles as well as singing an excerpt of from Verdi's I Lombardi in Sarasota Opera's Verdi Times Gala. The previous summer was spent as an Apprentice Artist at the Santa Fe Opera where he covered the roles of Angelotti in Tosca and Graf Waldner in Strauss' Arabella. Mr. Murray has sung roles such as Leporello, Masetto, Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), Marquis D'Obigny (La Traviata), Capellio (i Capuleti ed i Montecchi), Rev. Winemiller (Summer and Smoke), Goldsmith und Reporter 1 (Miss Lonelyhearts) and Haemon the Manager (La Divina).
