Dear Bride or Event coordinator, Our professional musicians will transport you to heaven on your special day! Imagine a flutist playing solo, or a duet with (1) another flutist (2) a violinist (3) a guitarist or (4) a pianist! Let's put together a trio: flute/violin/cello or flute/harp/cello..... just beautiful! How about a quartet? So elegant: flute/violin/viola/cello or flute/harp/violin/cello......
No matter what the combination you will love what you hear! We've been performing 16 years at the southern shores of NJ with many many happy brides.
We not only play classical music, but beloved show tunes, movie themes, jazz standards, classic rock and top 40 hits... It depends on your heart's desire, and I (Geri Rizzo, flutist) will work with you to get all the right music! For weddings, we arrive one hour early, set up, then play 1/2 prelude music. The ceremony then starts, and we perform processionals for the Moms (if wanted); the bridal party and the bride. If there is a unity candle service or any other during the ceremony, we play for that; then the recessionals ensue. For the cocktail hour, we play light classical, standards, and movie themes. We provide our own ampllification, and for the beach use battery operated amps. Bottom line, we sound beautiful! Just listen...
I am primarily a classical flutist, and along with my fine musicians play any genre, Bach to Rock, and have been performing over 25 years. I am principal flutist with the Atlantic Pops in Egg Harbor Township, NJ and the Pinelands Symphonic Band, Whiting, NJ, and have performed with the Ocean City Pops, as well as the Tristate Orchestra and Fine Arts Symphony in NY. I am also a board member of the Jersey Shore Jazz Vespers committee, Atlantic City where I perform with a jazz trio or quartet. Some of the events I've performed at are: in Washington, DC, at the Peruvian Ambassador's home with the Grammy Award Winning World Folk Group "Inca Son"; at Carnegie Hall with James Galway, and I toured with the American Symphony when I was seventeen. I am also a trained singer and am happy to sing along with my duo partner for your wedding for a solo or as a cantor. I teach flute privately and have had wonderful teachers: Claude Monteux, World Class soloist and conductor/founder of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, James Pappoutsakis, flutist Boston Symphony and principal Boston Pops; and Frances Blaisdell (Metropolitan Opera, NYC).
I have told that I am personable, professional and very easy to deal with; I do my best. I hope to hear from you soon and make your musical dream a reality!
Kind regards, Geri Rizzo, Flutist
