Guitarist/ Vocalist Derek VanScoten earned a Bachelor of Music with High Honors in Classical and Jazz Guitar Performance from CU Boulder.
His repertoire consists of classical, baroque, romantic, renaissance, latin, jazz, folk, pop, rock, R&B, celtic, klezmer and bluegrass music for solo guitar and/ or ensemble.
He has toured nationally with mambo big band Cabaret Diosa and jazz/ funk groups element37 and The Motet. Highlights include performances at Red Rocks, Great American Music Hall (San Francisco), Live Oak Festival (Santa Barbara) and a New Years Party with Jerry Seinfield.
While at home in Boulder, Mr. VanScoten also serves as guitarist/composer/music director of R&B ensemble 8traC and mandolinist/ vocalist of Haywire bluegrass band.
