Centerpoint String Music is a string ensemble music group featuring violin and various string instrumentalists from solo to string quartet to play at your local event. The string ensemble can be arranged for quartet, trio, duet or the popular feature, solo violin. This group is managed by Ms. Clare Cantu-Haugen a freelance violinist and music teacher in the Schertz/San Antonio area. Ms. Clare plays for local area orchestras, cafes, farmer's markets and teaches private lessons. She can perform for your event as a solo violinist for a small wedding, church event or luncheon, and if you are needing a string quartet, Ms. Clare can work with you, the client to coordinate the Centerpoint Strings ensemble to perform. Ms. Clare offers a distinguished string ensemble for larger events featuring 1st violin, Brenna Carlson, 2nd Violin Ms. Clare, viola Sidney Silva, and cellist Phoebe Wilson, as acting members of the quartet. Her clients include performances at Los Patios, McNay Art Museum, bed and breakfast openings, wedding locations from Corpus Christi to the Hill Country, as well as corporate luncheons in San Antonio and the Austin area. Christmas time is an especially wonderful time to book a string quartet! She has studied romantic classical violin music, pop tunes, tango violin, and Ren-Faire lyrical pieces; particularly favored at weddings in "a Capella" style or with light "cafe style" music accompaniment. Currently, you can find Ms. Clare playing 1st violin for the South Texas Symphonic Orchestra, but was also the principal violist. She was a longstanding member of Symphony of the Hills in Kerrville, TX on viola and received a Bachelor's in Music Performance. She teaches private music lessons to students on beginner piano, Advanced Violin, Advanced Viola, and Advanced Cello. Lastly, one of her best shows was performing at an outdoor wedding in Corpus Christi on a ranch playing a special request by the bride and groom, "Theme from Game of Thrones." Another event featured, Ms. Clare playing "cafe style" for an evening of string music, "O Sole Mio" and other lovely pieces.
