Hi, my name is Helen Davies and I came overseas, from Germany, to live and breath the air of good, old, fabulous New York City. My profession: Musical Theater Singer But my range and knowledge of music starts with classical music, such as church songs (e.g. Ave Maria: Schubert as well as Bach/Gounod) and goes beyond Jazz tunes... I had a Judy Garland Show in Germany, where I sang her songs and introduced her to my audience. I also sang in different jazz bands in Austria and Germany, where I got into more and more beautiful old Jazz Standards. I sing in a church in Brooklyn every Sunday, as a cantor, and often have an extra solo to sing there (this includes Bach). Musical theater is my world, especially the old classics: Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Gershwin. I am a sing-songwriter, wrote my first song with 13 and can accompany myself on the piano.
