Brendan Bondurant Classical Guitarist from Denver, CO

Versatile guitarist and teacher Brendan Bondurant consistently brings quality and elegance to audiences and students alike. He has won rave reviews for his premieres of new music, and the Kansas City Star said of his performance of George Crumb's Mundis Canis, “Bondurant…convincingly performed the difficult and humorous work.” Preferring collaborative projects to the spotlight, Bondurant performs with a diverse array of classical, jazz, folk, rock, and world music groups. In 2012, he was invited to perform in the UMKC Composer Concerts: Crossroads Series in Kansas City and at New York City's ultra-hip venue le poisson rouge. He also specializes in flamenco, and in 2014 was awarded a grant from Allied Arts INC to travel to Spain to work with maestro Enrique Vargas. He was awarded the Orville Moore Endowment from Allied Arts in 2015. A native of Kansas, and based in Denver, Colorado, Bondurant has a thriving private studio. Upcoming performances in 2016 will include a world premiere by composer Nicholas Omiccioli, recitals both solo and with soprano Emily Murdock, continuing collaborations with artist Vince Johnson, multi-instrumentalist Neil Haverstick, and a new duo focusing on chamber music from around the world with cellist Vela Mrdjen Farquharson. Brendan will also be spending time in the recording studio, and is featured as a guest guitarist on the 2016 release of jazz artist Humphrey Cobb's new CD.
