CRUISE was formed in 2006 by five great friends and musicians whom have been performing in the Maryland area for over 25 years. Cruise performs "classy rock" – playing many tunes that other bands don't. We put an emphasis on vocal harmonies and excellent musicianship. All five members of Cruise are in the Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame: Clyde Allen, Joe Bontz, Steve Parezo, Wayne Schuster and Keith Zumbrun. If you love 60s-70s-80s rock & roll, you will enjoy Cruise. We invite you to please check out our song list.
Meet the CRUISE members:
Clyde Allen - Lead Vocals -- Clyde, aka "Thunder Lungs", has been performing in the Mid-Atlantic Region for over 40 years. Lead singer Sang for Gene Vincentt & The Cadillac Cruisers for over 30 years which allowed him to perform with many national acts. Also sang for Past Time with Bob Brady, Russ Hinshaw and Al Parsons. Has the vocal range to perform the singers' songs such as Roy Orbison, Gary Puckett and Johnny Maestro. Inducted into the Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame in 2013. Chosen Male Vocalist of the Year in 2014 by the MEHOF.
Joe Bontz - Lead Guitar/Vocals -- Joe learned a few chords on guitar in high school but really applied himself on the fretboard after a motorcycle accident kept him in a wheelchair for four months. Began playing acoustic guitar in coffee houses in the 70's. Was in the Billy No Show band in the 80's, then joined Gene Vincentt and the Cadillac Cruisers in 1998 where he remained in the lineup for 10 years. Formed Cruise with Clyde Allen, Wayne Schuster and Keith Zumbrun 10 years ago. Recently rejoined Gene Vincentt and continues with Cruise as well. You will hear the influence of Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty in his playing style on his custom made Tim Tone guitar that's a combination of a Fender Starcaster and Gibson 335.
Steve "The Hitman" Parezo - Drums/Vocals -- Known for his hard-hitting style, Steve has been a professional drummer for more than four decades behind his vintage Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl set, providing his trademark "big beat" for a variety of top bands. Toured the East Coast and recorded with Country Music Hall of Fame Singer/Songwriter Jim Owen in the late 70s and early 80s. Recorded a critically acclaimed CD "Rough Cut" with indie label rockers The Buddy Ivory Band out of Savage, MD in 2008 and joined Cruise in 2013. A member of the Professional Drummers Teaching Guild, Steve has been mentoring drummers of all ages since 2000.
Wayne Schuster - Keyboards/Vocals -- Wayne was a professional club and studio musician growing up in 1970s New York City, playing in club bands doing mostly rock and dance music throughout the 70s before moving to Colorado. After returning to the East Coast in the mid-1990s, Wayne has played in classic rock bands ever since. His early musical influences included Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Santana, Deep Purple, Yes and Stevie Wonder. In the studio, Wayne played piano, organ, mellotron and synthesizer backup for the 70s Atlantic Records Artist Ace Spectrum. Also plays with Gene Vincentt & The Cadillac Cruisers.
Keith Zumbrun - Bass/Vocals -- Keith began playing instruments in second grade and continued playing French Horn in school bands and orchestra's through college where he studied music theory and was responsible for getting musicians to perform for the college coffee house. Was in his first pop band at age 14 playing rhythm guitar for a Ventures band called "Mirror's Reflection." Has played guitar, Fender Precision bass, trumpet, French Horn, keys and sang backup and harmony in his various musical endeavors. Among the groups he's worked with are High Tyde, Two of Us, Night Shift, Sound Scape and Reason. Performs regularly with Gene Vincentt & The Cadillac Cruisers and Saving Sgt. Pepper, a Baltimore-area Beatles cover band.
Here are some of our Client Testimonials:
RJ Rom & Assoc.
"I just wanted to say thank you for helping me put a little more fun into my events. You always come through for me. I'm a big believer in interaction between performers and the audience and you are the only band at the Hon Fest that got the crowd to dance and they loved it. As did the media -- so thanks for the great photo opp. And the Park Stage at Baltimore Party in the Park WAS seriously rockin'...You are on my 'go to' list for bands."

"We have been booking Classy Rock Cruise for two years now and really enjoy their music. Our American Legion members and guests love to dance and when Classy Rock Cruise comes to our Post to play on a Saturday we all get down and dance and really enjoy the band. They are also very nice people and very respectful to everyone so if you need a band book them now you won't regret it."
