With the overwhelming fog of global media that has emerged in the past few years, it is no wonder that our senses have become dulled and generally unexcited about music. The October is a refuge. Prided by rich melodic guitars, soaring vocals, and a danceable drum/bass attack, the October will truly leave you faceless as they will continue to birth timeless passion in their music.
The October has stepped onto the scene with a level of grace and professionalism beyond their years. Their unique sound is a breath of fresh air in an industry polluted by regurgitated copycats and lowered standards. Finally, a band that will make people fall in love with music all over again! -
The band’s debut, Push Me Off the Side of the Earth, is a portal that takes you back to some of the greatest moments of Brit Rock (think Echo and the Bunnymen and Oasis) and 80s New Wave (remembering classic U2 & the Church). Since its release in June of 2004, it has created a buzz all over the world with its echoing delays and huge, melodic choruses.
Their recent 2006 follow up, Bye Bye Beautiful, emerges high above the trend-followers of the current 80's new wavers. Pulling inspiration from the real pioneers of the UK post-punks, the October advances the genre into something of their own. Bye Bye Beautiful is a story of redemption that gives its audience an insight into depths that can only be obtained through riding the waves of insecurity and rejection.
Members, front man Dustin Burnett, guitarist Ryan Cain, bassist Michael Lloyd, and drummer Aaron Spraggs, all hail from small towns in IL & KY. Since they began touring, the foursome has become notorious for making a rock show feel like a British dance party.
The October is a brave band that comes so close to being retro yet doesn’t cross the line, managing to pull off all the best things about the 1980s electronic pop scene (think The Church, Flock of Seagulls) without falling into throwback territory -
The October has been a part of the CMJ artist showcase, the 2005 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT and has played several music conferences across the U.S., most recently including the Midwest Music Summit and the Dewey Beach Music Festival in 2006.

In January of 2007, B Factory Music released both records to the European market (exclusive to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), and already both are showing signs of a bright future abroad.
The October vows to keep moving forward to the light of perfection, honesty, and hard work as they realize an ever-changing palette to which they will be a vessel to the future faces of rock and roll.
