Harpist Serena O'Meara is in the lineage of John Thomas, harpist to Queen Victoria. Mr. Thomas arranged beautiful piano and harp duets that were performed for Queen Victoria. Mr. Thomas taught fellow Welshman Henry J Williams who then immigrated in 1904 to perform with the Minneapolis Symphony and teach harp at the University of Minnesota. Mr. Williams began teaching Gladys Hubner in 1921. Ms. Hubner played Second Harp next to Mr. Williams, performed on KOMO Seattle radio, Radio City Music Hall and Broadway before returning home to again play Second Harp with the Minnesota Orchestra and freelance performances. Serena O'Meara began her studies with Ms. Hubner in 1974 and that is how she has come into the possession of music performed for Queen Victoria!
