Unique, intimate, and enchanting, Kammeraderie is a violin and recorder duo performing for weddings, receptions, and cultural events in Southern California. Be it Celtic or Classical, Renaissance or international music you desire, our repertory will delight you. Our beautiful wooden recorders are predecessors of the modern flute. Bert plays soprano, alto, tenor, and bass recorders. Dorothy is an accomplished violinist who is also a fine recorder player. Gentle amplification, battery-operated if the event requires, is available at no extra charge. We pride ourselves on providing a unique soundscape for discerning California clients who appreciate the value of fine music.
With an love of folkloric music from many lands, we can honor your heritage with our music. Examples of international music we perform are Irish, Scottish, English Country Dance, Italian, French, Greek, Eastern European, Klezmer, and Scandinavian (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish).
More about Kammeraderie:
- We were interviewed for the 2012 Wedding issue of Renaissance Magazine. Dorothy's music essays and articles have been published both in the U.S. and internationally.
- We've arranged six volumes of Old English and Celtic traditional tunes for two instruments that have been played by fellow musicians on four continents. This music is beautifully suited to theme performances, such as Earth Day, English Teas, and nautical events.
- In 2015, we recorded six Celtic albums, now available digitally through CD Baby, Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, and streaming platforms. Find us under the Kammeraderie label.
- For theme performances (Renaissance, Celtic, Medieval, etc.), we can dress in colorful authentic costumes.
