Welcome to the beautiful Wilshire Caterers and grounds, where an unparalleled commitment to excellence in everything we do and an inspiring passion for distinguished service has been a family tradition for over 65 years and counting. We invite you to celebrate your cherished affair amidst the crystal chandeliers and elegantly designed ballrooms of our magnificent venue, where we offer everything you need to make planning your unforgettable day as easy and convenient as possible. With 89 well-appointed guest rooms for friends and family to call home, an on-site Zagat-rated Italian restaurant perfect for private dinners or after-parties, an in-house florist, DJ and Band, and a world-class staff to take care of your every need, the Wilshire is in a class of its own when it comes to hosting your unforgettable event in the tri-state area.
The Wilshire Caterers is proudly owned and operated by the grandson of Mickey Weiss, the original baker at the Wilshire back when it was better known as the Goldman in 1952. Emigrating from Europe after WWII with nothing more than a suitcase, camera, and the clothing on his back, Mickey found a job in West Orange and began baking here the day after he arrived in America. His optimistic attitude and persevering work ethic led his ascent to the General Manager position where he oversaw the operations of the entire property, later known as Town & Campus, for over 40 years. Having never learned to write English, a secretary wrote all his menus, letters, and business documents. Only in America could a poor refugee find himself working directly with a litany of U.S. Presidents, Senators, Governors, and the area's most prominent residents for decades. We at The Wilshire take immense pride in upholding the high service standards set by Mickey and in continuing the family tradition of superb hospitality amidst the elegant charm of our home. We welcome you to visit the Wilshire and we thank you in advance for the privilege of showing you our beloved establishment.
