Charles Rak will sketch humorous pictures of guests, using information from friends, and a brief interview, to personalize each. These sketches can be theme related or spontaneous.
Types of events or parties Chuck loves to do. Industrial picnics (Employee day entertainment), Graduation parties, Car dealerships (Grand Openings, special sales, staff galleries), Assisted Living entertainment (sister facilities often book back to back during the week), Special Events (weddings, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, banquets), Conventions (promotional, entertainment), Resorts (additional support entertainment, general festivities).
For children, theme related would be sports, musical instruments, favorite hobbies, and activities. Chuck will ask them, "What do you like to do for fun?".
For adults, (couples or individuals), this can also be theme related or, an occupational situation. For example, romance (think Romeo and Juliet), fantasy (think cowboys and Indians), job related, and of course spontaneous suggestions, are always fun.
A black and white line drawing will take 5 minutes per face, completing 10-12 faces an hour. Additional grey to black shading adds 1-2 minutes per face, this style would complete 8-10 faces per hour. Color takes 12-15 minutes per face, as individuals; couples would take about 20 minutes to complete.
I recently asked Chuck, how many events he has sketched at, in the 40+ years he has been doing this, and he guessed thousands. A man with experience. If you have any questions, please email!
