If Matt McCarty has learned anything from his more than thirty years in organizational and project leadership it's this: leadership is service. Matt believes wholeheartedly in the principles of servant leadership. Through his breakouts, keynotes and workshops people at all organizational levels discover how to effectively incorporate the attributes of a servant leader into their everyday life at work, in the community and at home.
Matt is an advocate of self-directed lifelong learning who understands that, in order to truly grow, you need to put into practice the concepts, tools and ideas you are learning about. “Learning is the key to longevity, in life, in relationships and in your career. For me, the 'three Ps' are Practice, Patience and Persistence. Too often, we want to be immediately successful. We want to know how to do things, we don't want to learn how to do them. We have forgotten that things take time. Then we give up when our new endeavors become challenging, which is usually just before a big breakthrough.”
Matt McCarty, an award winning speaker and certified speaking coach, has helped people from all walks of life create, package and present their message effectively. Matt loves to share what he has learned in his 30+ years experience as a leader, a presenter and a coach. For him it's all about helping others tell their stories. “People have stories that the world, at least their part of it, needs to hear. If I can help them tell those stories, to really reach, engage and move others, then I feel like I've helped to lift us all up. Even if it's just a little bit.”
Matt is active in Toastmasters International, The Project Management Institute, The Institute for Servant Leadership, the association of World Class Speaking Coaches and several non-profit groups and charities. “I believe that the connections we make are important and eternal. It's the reason we are here--to connect with each other. And I believe that helping people tell their stories improves their ability to make those connections. It's all about building relationships.”
