About Vendor

Learn more about this vendor for your event.

David "Chainsaw" Dupont is a master of "Delta Crush" style guitar - a modernized, industrial blues sound that he plays with such heartfelt feeling and authenticity that many of the songs he performs will stay with you long after you've heard them. He attracts top musicians so crowds end up dancing to one of the tightest bands around. He plays in formats ranging from acoustic solo and duo right up to 6 and 7 piece bands with a horn section and harmonica, one of the top performers on the Chicago scene. Among the many Chicago venues at which he's wowed audiences: House of Blues, Buddy Guy's Legends, Kingston Mines, Heaven on Seven (regularly for Mardi Gras), Checkerboard Lounge, Bill's Blues, Lee's Unleaded, Fitzgerald's, and Rosa's Lounge. He's also played the Chicago Blues Festival and has had regular airplay on Chicago's WXRT, XM satellite radio, and a wide variety of stations in the U.S. and Europe, as well as several TV appearances on ABC and NBC outlets in Chicago. On a trilogy of original CDs, "Lake St. Lullaby", "Bourbon St. Breakdown", and "Ghost Kings of Beale St.", he pays tribute to the great cities of the blues — Memphis, New Orleans and Chicago — with styles ranging from Cajun and swamp blues to soul and funk, to rockabilly and blues-rock. A versatile, veteran blues performer born in the Mississippi Delta, he has lived in Chicago for over 20 years, and was a touring guitarist for the late great Junior Wells in the 90s. The top blues publications have all given him rave reviews: Blues & Rhythm (UK): "...a warm vocalist and talented guitarist...one of the most gifted performers on the contemporary blues scene..." Juke Blues (UK): "...this modern day troubadour demonstrates an originality both in his songwriting and in the variety of approaches he takes to convey these ideas..." Blues Revue (US): "...his musical persona is as palpable on disc as that of Taj Mahal or Keb' Mo' -- he's masterful, nuanced, and out to kill with blues power..." Chainsaw is a gifted performer with an array of crowd-pleasing tricks in his bag, sometimes including a wireless guitar that he uses to roam the audience. He knows how to play to a wide variety of crowds from large festival stages to intimate cafes, with strong material and compelling performance.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on August 26, 2011From Elgin, IL

Chainsaw Dupont is a great artist and everyone at my event loved the performance. I was a little disappointed with the management end of the group, but overall happy with the actual band.

CelebrationReviewed on July 5, 2011From Gary, IN

They were really accomodating with the space and the amount of attention to the requests needed to create our event. The band was able to arrive early and set-up before the event and start right on time which is important in all the components of throwing a successful event. He had a great stage presence along with the other members of the band and really interacted with the audience. We had people get up and dance to enjoy the music. Thank you.

Restaurant EventReviewed on June 27, 2011From Galena, IL

We had a great night at the Galena Brewery with Chainsaw and the Blues Warriors! I would highly recommend them to anyone and am hoping to have them back for a performance this winter. All of our patrons loved them, as Chainsaw and the Blues Warriors interacted with them, danced with them, and actually got them engaged into havin' a good time! Our staff praised them for their courtesy and professionalism. Thank You to Chainsaw and the Blues Warriors.
