Rooted in Blues and Rock'n' Roll, bluessmyth's sound is all it's own.The rhythmic foundation of the band is laid down by Jason Yaholkoski's (JY) deep melodic bass and Calvin Becker's bombastic and soulful drumming. Both provide a perfect compliment to Chris Yaholkoski's (Chris Y) powerful and moving guitar lines. The vocal blend is extraordinarily compelling. Chris Y's voice has the resonance of an old, life-soaked Bluesman, and is enhanced by the harmonies of the other two- Calvin Becker's soaring falsetto and Jay Y's rich baritone. The result is an ornately textured sound that is both chilling and moving. Live and on recordings, Chris Y adds blues harmonica to the mix, and Calvin gives beautifully soulful organ and piano sounds to the recordings. Ever since joining forces to record and perform together, the members of bluessmyth have been bringing their own brand of maximum Blues-Rock to the world.
