GERRY MOSS performs and writes a broad range of material from blues, to jazz, to country, to pop, although he is most widely known for the blues.
GERRY can perform and headline either as a single artist self-accompanied on guitar and/or keyboards or with an electric band ranging from 3 up to 14 pieces. His 3-5 piece band is called MOSSMAN. When the band is larger, they are called the RED BARN RAMBLERS. The number varies according to scheduling, availability and the wants of whoever hires Gerry.
Although GERRY has not become a household name, he garners the respect and admiration of many in the industry. They enthusiastically step up to opportunities to perform with him. This explains the existence of MOSSMAN and the RED BARN RAMBLERS. Some of his band mates have had their own encounters with fame.
GERRY has performed in shows with rhythm and blues artists such as Bobby "Blue" Bland, Albert Collins, Rufus Thomas, Lloyd Price, B.B. King, Albert King, James Cotton, and Buddy Guy.
On the country side he has performed with Merle Haggard, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Charlie Pride, Hank Williams, Jr., David Lynn Jones, and Clint Black's band.
In the pop/rock field, Gerry has performed with Leon Russell, Joe Walsh, Stevie Winwood, Johnny Rivers, and with Paul McCartney's band (without Paul).
One of GERRY'S previous bands, "The Famous Unknowns," was the house band at B.B. Kings Blues Club in Memphis, TN for 2½ years.
For a time, Gerry was the bass guitar player with Lloyd Price (Personality, Stagger Lee, Lawdy Miss Claudy).
He also toured as guitarist for Johnny Lee during the "Looking For Love" era.
He played in the Teresa James Band and Danny Timms while living in California.
He went on to record and tour with singer songwriter David Lynn Jones.
GERRY's skill and versatility reflect more than four decades as an entertainer. He is better now than ever. Gerry is also an experienced recording engineer and producer. Additionally, he has an established legacy as a music teacher.
GERRY started to play guitar while in England at the age of six. In addition to guitar, Gerry is accomplished on banjo, mandolin, bass guitar, Dobro guitar, and keyboards.
GERRY was born in Massachusetts July, 1950 to an Air Force father. He was the oldest of 8 children. As a musician, Gerry has lived in Europe, New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Ft Worth, Houston, and Hardy, Arkansas. He presently resides in Massachusetts.
