Summary: The Showmen Bluegrass "Extraordinaire" Band is a group with a timeless sound.
Listening to the bluegrass and gospel music played by the Showmen Bluegrass Band is like
taking a stroll down memory lane. It is an old, familiar sound in American musical culture
with roots all the way back to the earliest immigrations of people to America, bringing their
various types of music with them
The Showmen Bluegrass Band brings to Central Texas a stellar roundup of Three musicians,
sometimes four,
Each eager to use their talents to entertain folks.
Pete Hughey, who provides lead vocals and Lead guitar. Born in Texas
Pete has already played bluegrass and gospel music with several other Central
Texas bands. Three band members were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Gatesville, TX
Band Manager, Bill Lloyd 5-string banjo, it's easy to guess he was born and raised in
Bluegrass Country—that is, Virginia. After many years in the American
Bluegrass circuit, Bill now performs with the Showmen Doug Taylor,
from Oklahoma, travelled the country performing on bass and guitar before
becoming one of the Showmen. He became interested in bluegrass music after seeing the
movie Deliverance, with its dueling banjos.
Justin Farrow, born in Texas, has been playing the fiddle from an early age. Now he not
only performs with the Showmen, but is Music Director at Life Church in Round Rock and
teaches private lessons for violin, viola, and fiddle in Georgetown.
Through Betty and Gene Wolf of Sharity Productions, Three members of the premier
Showmen Bluegrass "Extraordinaire" Band ( Doug, Justin, and Bill) played with another band
opening for celebrated country singer Ray Price at both the Paramount in Austin and the
Cailloux Theatre in Kerrville, Texas. All performances were sellouts.

Very professional band, our residents enjoyed them very much. Only concern we had was that they did not have all the members actually performing that were in the picture/video on gigmasters, so no mandolin player.
