Darlene & ''Reflections of Bluegrass'' an energetic group based out of Columbia South Carolina, incorporates the classic sound of yesterday’s Country with the contemporary sound of today’s Bluegrass. Their unique styling blend along with their exceptional talents places this group into a league of their own. Influenced by the likes of Bluegrass legends Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, J.D. Crowe and more recent Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Rhonda Vincent, among others. Darlene & Reflections of Bluegrass are planting their unique blend of bluegrass and growing fans with every performance along the way. The title of the group’s current project, “Ain’t Love A Good Thing” speaks as a personal message for the five members of the vibrant group, all of whom share the desire to impart the love of the music they have in their hearts to the enjoyment of the listener. Their stage presence is pure enjoyment! Darlene Champagne, with her soulful lead and harmony vocals, heads up the group, adding her songwriting skills to the group dynamics. Darlene has performed all across the USA with many well known artists. Her dynamic singing is rarely found in today's singers. Johnny Fenlayson banjo player and harmony vocals is a five time South Eastern Banjo Champion as well as a three time South Carolina State Banjo Champion. Johnny has played for over 40 yrs. around the Southeastern USA. He has played with many Bluegrass greats such as Jim & Jesse, Mac Wiseman and Earl Scruggs. Johnny played banjo in the movie ''Play It Again Uncle Sam'' with Gloria Loring and Bob Hope in 1973. The beat goes on with Bob Dockery behind the acoustic bass who has played with the Charlie Spivak Orchestra, Stonewall Jackson and Loretta Lynn. Bob has played all over the country for over 50 yrs. Richard Hollis who is a two time South Carolina State Champion on Dobro and a real Josh Graves clone lends his gifted work to the group. Richard has played over the Southeast for over 40 years with sone of the industry's greats including Josh Graves himself. This band plays with authority, passion and drive like you would expect from seasoned veterans of Bluegrass music. The band is very personable and interacts well with clients. They also have CDs and DVDs for sale. The band will perform and adjust their schedule and criteria to meet the needs of all their clients.
