High Ground Drifters Bluegrass Band from New Orleans, LA

The High Ground Drifters have been together for 13 years. We are the best bluegrass band on the Gulf Coast Our focus is bluegrass but we have built a large and varied list of songs over the years. We play country/ blues/ pop/ americana/jazz. We have played major festivals in the New Orleans area including Jazz fest and Voo Doo among others. The band includes five pieces, guitar/mandolin/banjo/bass/fiddle. Our shows are energetic and tend to have the audience dancing to the waltzes or two steps that we play. Unlike most bands, we have three part harmonies and most members solo on their instruments, which helps keep the show from seeming the same. We have produced one CD that is available for listen on the bandcamp site. Videos of the band playing are available on the gig masters site or you tube. All band members live in the New Orleans area. When dealing with the band, you will find us very professional and responsive to the needs to the gig. We respect time and are a no drinking on stage band. We enjoy playing together AND enjoying pleasing those who are our audience. The band members are in their forties and fifties and understand the importance of what a band brings to an event. Yes, hiring a bluegrass band is not the norm in a jazz town. Consider the uniqueness of the music at the event and how the people would enjoy that change in sound.
