Bill McGaughey's Timeless Musical Treasures Singer from Easton, CT

It seems I've been performing my entire life. Never being satisfied with the status quo, I've done everything from Musical Comedy to Rock & Roll and almost everything in between. I've been fortunate to share the stage with such classic notables as Bob Hope and Dinah Shore, have worked a Presidential Inaugural and have performed on National TV on an early predecessor of American Idol (I lost to the Carpenters!). I'm more than just a vocalist. I'm an entertainer and I put on a show. I currently do several types of shows and can tailor a program to fit your exact needs. The first is "Celebrating the Big Bands and Top Male Vocalists of the 20th Century" such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Tony Bennett. I utilize professionally recorded instrumental tracks that are nearly identical to the original arrangements of Count Basie, Glenn Miller and even Michael Buble'. By utilizing these tracks I can offer all that amazing sound without you having to pay for a full orchestra. These are not tribute shows. I sing these familiar classics in the styles, and with the accompaniment people are familiar with, but I never try to imitate the original singers. Spend the evening dancing to this great swing era music or just sit back and reminisce to the Great American Songbook. I also do a "Tribute To The 50's" which includes great Doo-Wop classics, some teen idol hits from the likes of Frankie Avalon and Johnny Mathis and many more of the songs you'll remember. As with the Big Band show, I utilize state of the art backing tracks that are often indistinguishable from the original recordings. A favorite show of mine is what I call the "Cabaret Classics". These shows are more intimate and a bit quieter than the big bands and 50's shows. Typically the backing arrangements are piano, bass, percussion and guitar. This can be ideal as background music during cocktails and/or dinner, but is certainly danceable, as well. And, of course, I do a complete Christmas show covering all the Christmas favorites and performers such as Bing Crosby and Perry Como. I can include a sing along portion with your favorite traditional carols along with hand out song sheets. I also do shows singing and playing ukulele. In this setting I do much of the same wonderful music from the Great American Songbook but I also add some of those wonderful early classics from the 1920's and 30's. Songs we learned from our parents. It's not possible to listen to (or sing) ukulele music without a smile on your face. You can also combine these shows using cabaret or ukulele music during cocktails / dinner followed by an hour or two of dancing to the big band sounds or classic hits of the 50's and early 60's. Now that's an evening! My repertoire is very large. I currently have over 300 backing tracks and an equal number of ukelele classics, certainly too large to include a complete listing. Plus, I add to this weekly. If you don't see a particular song in my list, just ask. Chances are, I'm already doing it or can add it for your program.
