Bayan has been studying Middle Eastern Dance since 2003 under Miramar, Dahliyah, and Jennifer Speiden. She specializes in American Cabaret style belly dance. She moved to Blacksburg, VA in 2005 where she became president of the Belly Dancing Club at Virginia Tech and taught belly dance fitness classes for 5 years. While in Blacksburg, Bayan organized annual dance benefit concerts, raising money for Relay for Life, Lyme disease research and the ASPCA. She partnered with Thana Tarab of Radford performing in local restaurants, dance shows, and arts festivals. She has attended workshops along the east coast from some of the nations top dancers including Saida, Luna of Cairo, Nathalie, Yamil Annum, Sadie, Amar Gamal, Stevie, Ebony, Najmah Nour, Yvonne, and Tamalyn Dallal.
After receiving her Bachelor's and Masters at Virginia Tech (GO HOKIES!!!) Bayan Grapes moved to Gainesville, FL to pursue a MS in Molecular Biology at the University of Florida. She currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida, and is the house dancer at the Casbah.

Bayan constantly aims to improve as a professional belly dancer and develop her own unique and electrifying style by learning, teaching, and pursuing dance opportunities. Some of the most recent additions to her dance resume include opening for such stars as Rida, Rowaida Attiah, Fares Karam, Fadi Sultan, and more! This year she won first place in the 2014 Florida State Belly Dance Championship and can't wait to compete in Miami for the first time in August!
