The Traveling Men have been delighting audiences in Western Connecticut since 2010, and were judged to be the "Most Improved" quartet at the Yankee Division (Barbershop Harmony Society) competition in 2012, 2013 and 2014.  At the time of their founding, their tenor commuted between Connecticut and a coffee plantation in Nicaragua; their lead was frequently visiting family in Alabama and Minnesota; their baritone was researching in Cambodia and Vietnam; and their bass was fond of touring many world destinations.  For that reason, we settled on our peregrinating moniker.    Traveling Men has always included Danny Anderson (lead), Wynn Gadkar-Wilcox (baritone), and Andy Bayer (bass). 

Danny Anderson, the long-time president of the Mad Hatter Chorus, has had a long and prosperous career in sales, including in his current employment, in which he sells energy efficient lighting.  Wynn Gadkar-Wilcox is on the History Faculty at WCSU, specializing in Southeast Asian history.  Andy Bayer recently retired as Assistant Principal at Southington (CT) high school.  Over the years, we have had several others on the fourth part.  For the last year, we have been fortunate to procure the services of the inimitable Art Cilley (tenor), a lawyer/CPA and former corporate officer at a major telecommunications company. 

Traveling Men tend to focus on traditional barbershop tunes, ballads, and New Orleans-style jazz, but we are also interested in broadening our horizons and exploring new genres.  We provided entertainment at the Goodspeed Opera House in Lyme CT before a show about a barbershop quartet and deliver singing Valentines to lucky listeners each February.  We look forward to singing at your next party or event (birthday, holiday, anniversary, graduation, etc.).


They made my event perfect just perfect! All I can say is AWSOME!

The quartet arrived to entertain and astound my 90 year old father, family and friends!  They accommodated a request for one of our family members to join them since she was a professional, listened to some great old barbershop stories from my dad and made the party so special!  We all enjoyed the experience but my father felt "thirty years younger". I would highly recommend the Traveling Men for the right occasion.


 The traveling men were absolutely awesome.They performed for my father  for his  and 90th birthday and were a  huge success.They were polite,accomadating and very professional.I would recomend them to anyone for any ocassion,they are truly talented and a class act.
