Hello, and welcome to my page! As a small business owner, I strive to provide world class service to my valuable customers, because reputation is everything. My commitment is to providing timely and friendly response, arriving on time to my commitments, and appearing sharply dressed to military standard in traditional Scottish attire with a well tuned, pleasant sounding bagpipe. As a newcomer to Atlanta, I continue to build on twenty five years of musical education and heritage. I began playing the Scottish Highland Bagpipes as a child, and during those formative years set about to study the traditional dance music of Ireland as well. During the first few years of studying the pipes, I took up the Irish Tenor Banjo and the Irish Flute alongside my piping studies. Little did I know at ten years old that endeavouring to play this music that I love so much would have taken me to such far flung corners of the planet! I've made many lifelong friends in the process of pursuing traditional music, and most notably, I met my wonderful wife through the Irish music community. I was very fortunate to grow up in a piping family in Kansas City, and after finishing a BA at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, I was appointed Business Manager of the local St Andrew Pipe Band which was formed in 1962 and today has a membership of over seventy musicians. I spent eight years working as the Business Manager for that organization, which gave me invaluable experience in customer service and music management. That experience led to launching my own full time bagpiping service in Washington DC. During the time we lived in Washington and Baltimore, I played for several notable events including: - The retirement ceremony for Admiral Jon White overlooking the Pentagon in Crystal City, VA - Performing with The Chieftains at Strathmore Performing Arts Center in Bethesda, MD - Performed for change of command ceremony for the VFA-97 Warhawks F-18 squadron, Lemoore Naval Air Station, California - Piping for the wedding of a senior FBI employee on the National Mall - Playing for the retirement ceremony of two US Marine Corps Special Forces combat veterans in Silver Spring, MD - Performing with the New Century Irish Arts Company for the Washington Folk Festival at Glen Echo Park - Performing in concert with the MacMillan Pipe Band in Sandy Spring, MD as well as many lovely weddings, golf tournaments, birthdays, and memorial services. Most recently during our one year tour of Zambia in East Africa, I had the honor of playing for the Lusaka Caledonian Club for their Robert Burns Night, and I was subsequently invited to play for the British Ambassador at his residence for the Queen's Birthday to the delight of over 400 guests from the international diplomatic community.
