Kevin Hendryx Celtic Bagpiper from Austin, TX

I am a performer on the Great Highland Bagpipe, the traditional instrument of the Scottish Highland clans, carried around the world by soldiers of the Scottish regiments and wherever Scots have journeyed as settlers. I play mainly traditional bagpipe music (as is customary) but my repertoire encompasses other folk tunes, church music, Christmas carols, and the odd novelty number as the occasion requires. (Given the bagpipe's limited musical range; it does not lend itself well to all musical forms or playing with many other instruments without electronic wizardry.) I have played in bagpipe and drum marching bands in the past but generally perform as a soloist. I wear appropriate Highland dress and am available for a wide range of events: weddings, memorial/funeral services, parades, campaign rallies, birthday surprises, ceremonies of all kinds and desperate charges into battle. I have over 15 years of experience as a public performer and, since 2008, Scottish Games competitor (Grade IV, winning seven medals in my first three solo piping competitions).
