Andrew Donlon is a professionally graded bagpiper in the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association, and has won contests in The United States, Canada and Scotland as a soloist and bandsman. An active competitor, Donlon won Overall Champion for the EUSPBA in Grade 1 for both 2012 and 2013, and has been a successful professional competitor since, winning the Piobaireachd at the 2014 Perth Highland Games in Scotland among other prizes in 2014. 2015 saw Andrew win the U.S. Silver Medal for Piobaireachd at Winter Storm in Kansas City, Missouri as well as Champion Piper at the Southern Maryland Games, Ohio Games, and Virginia Games in the United States and at the Ballater Highland Games in Scotland. Andrew is still an active prize winning professional throughout North America and Scotland.

In the pipe band realm, Andrew is the Pipe Major of the 2015 North American Champion MacMillan Pipe Band of Rockville, MD. In 2015 so far, the band has won all of it's competitions and is preparing to move up to Grade 2, joining the less than 15 pipe bands in that grade in the United States. Andrew has also competed with the New York Metro Pipe Band of New York City, earning 3rd place in the World Pipe Band Championships in 2013. 2016 will see Andrew stay with the MacMillan Pipe Band but also join the Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band in Scotland for the Worlds in August, a very rare occasion for an American piper to join a Scottish band for just a couple of weeks.

Outside of the competitive arena, Andrew has performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Ireland and Scotland. From weddings and funerals to parties and concerts Andrew has been a sought after performer for many years. Holding a degree in Music Performance with a focus in Bagpipes from the College of Wooster in Ohio, Andrew is one of the few bagpipers who studied the instrument's music at the collegiate level. This education let Andrew focus on perfecting his craft and gave him many opportunities to perform at churches, schools, concerts and events. You can be sure you're getting not only competitively refined music, but also seasoned performance.

As well as performing and competing, Andrew has been a sought after teacher of the bagpipes and is available for lessons at $35 an hour either in person or on Skype. He has been a clinician teaching bands and workshops around the United States and can be contacted for rates and availability.
