A FEW THINGS ABOUT ME THAT MIGHT HELP YOU DECIDE TO CHOOSE ME FOR YOUR MUSIC: CROWD FAVORITE- Let's face it... it's not very often you or your customers run into a guy who can comfortably perform 100% live music with as many as 7 instruments happening simultaneously... all in perfect rhythm and all tastefully played. People are always amazed. There aren't many like me around and that tends to be a good thing. I'm not your usual guy with a guitar singing radio songs. I prefer to be transparent and live without all the backing tracks, pseudo karaoke or even looping stations. There's an honesty to my music and presentation that sits well with those listening. My shows usually start out casual but by the 2nd set end up in concert mode. I have a reputation of making parties and events memorable and fun. PROFESSIONAL- I've been doing this for many years now. I show up early and stay late. I hardly take any breaks. I don't drink while performing because it's hard enough to do 7 individual instruments at a time without drinking. I understand that I work for you for that event and I leave my ego at home every time I walk in to play somewhere. In short I try to represent you the way you would represent you. I go from song to song only stop every now and then to engage the crowd... I personally don't like seeing bands that talk to the crowd for a long time between songs and I try not to do that. I don't sit for minutes trying to figure out what to play next. My show well planned and is polished and professional... enough so that during the last few years I shared the stage with the likes of Tommy Castro, Sean Costello, Delbert McClinton and Edwin McCain. Even though it may be a smaller stage I bring the same professionalism and preparation to every show. VOLUME- My combination of vintage analog and modern digital equipment allows me to feel comfortable performing at any volume needed. Not too loud but full sounding is what I shoot for. I can adjust volumes from anywhere in the venue for your event and if provided, can easily connect to your venue's sound system and/or sound engineer. If not, I bring with me enough sound equipment to easily sound great for rooms as large as 500 or more. And since you know your guests and your needs better than anyone, my feelings are never hurt if you say turn it down a little or even if you say turn it up. MUSIC I PLAY- I tend to lean towards Bluesy/Americana song selections for venue performances, but also keep current with latest country and pop hits that I feel I can cover without it seeming to be too much of a stretch for my style. I've recently added songs such as Buy Me A Boat, Hello, Beer Can Chicken which are always crowd favorites almost anywhere I go. I love doing songs by guys like JJ Grey and MOFRO, Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Wood Brothers, but I'm just as comfortable covering a song by John Mayer, Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffett or even Adele. I can also pull from over 1,500 songs on my list so I have enough songs of just about any genre to match your crowds tastes. That said, I will mix in songs that I do every night that folks may or may not know because I do them flawlessly and they just fit me. I've written over 400 songs in my career and I usually do a few from the most recent CDs at each show too, many times because I'm requested to do so. I also gladly take requests at most of my shows. School AssemblyReviewed on June 3, 2016From Monroe, NC

Owen was a real treat for the children as well as the faculty and staff. He made all of us smile and we would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a professional genius to perform at their party.

WeddingReviewed on September 13, 2015From Asheville, NC

Everyone is still raving about how awesome Owen was at our wedding! He played a FANTASTIC show. He arrived very early to set up in 3 locations and played our entire wedding LIVE from soft acoustics for the prelude & ceremony, to the first dances, and all throughout the reception. He had our dance floor FILLED! We still have people going out of their way to tell us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and we have Owen to thank for that! TRUST him completely -- he has a great process, and get ready to have the most amazing wedding ever because of him! My venue coordinators were so impressed they’re calling him for their future weddings! Owen is the best!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on October 7, 2013From Charlotte, NC

I hired Owen to play during my wedding ceremony even though the venue had piped in music available. I am so happy I did. He arrived early, was set up and ready to go even before half of the wedding party. The venue included a DJ service for the reception but I had Owen cover before, during the ceremony & cocktail hour. He was so inntuitive during the parts of the ceremony I reguested he play. I got huge praise for having chosen him. People loved lt. "Man, I could have just listened to him all night" was repeated to me many many times. He added so much to the whole evening and walking down the aisle to his music is part of my wedding I will never forget.
