February: My featured presentations this month include: "The Lincoln You Never Knew"; "Ohio's Underground Railroad Cases"; "The Fighting Piatts" (Civil War family); and for Valentine's season: "Lessons From Lost Loves" and a variety of Romantic Stories. Serious Presentations on Historical, Patriotic, Constitutional or Political themes. March: Featured presentations include: "The Trial of Jesus." Every month: Entertaining Presentations, including Karaoke-style singing; Storytelling (both for adults and children); Story Songs; and Poetry Recitations. My poetry recitations include lighthearted/humorous pieces, inspirational poems and classic entertaining poems such as Casey at the Bat and The Cremation of Sam McGee. My karaoke-style songs are typically romantic oldies, Country-Western oldies and '60's popular rock. At children's events I sing many old children's classic songs. My children's stories include both traditional stories and personal stories from my childhood, selected for their humorous lessons. My adult stories are mostly based on my own experiences, both as a child and as an adult. Examples: "Lessons from Lost Loves," and "Christmas at the Bar." Some are "Leave it to Beaver" style stories about my brother and me - I being the little brother who asked dumb questions and he being the older brother who pretended to have the answers. My recent historical talks have included: Ohio's Underground Railroad Cases; The Fighting Piatts (Civil War stories); The Fighting McCooks; Morgan's Raid; Grant Takes Command; Flatboating the Ohio River; Vice Presidents Gone Rogue; They Missed Their Chance (Presidential Also-Rans); Shout Treason: the Story of Aaron Burr; Shout Treason: the Story of Clement Vallandigham; and 'John H. Piatt, Financier of the Army of the Northwest.' 3 of my presentations are told in 1st person. Patriotic talks include 'Greatness to Spare: the Stories of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence' and 'The Lincoln You Never Knew.' Constitutional talks include 'The Bill of Rights' and 'The Purpose and Intent of the First Amendment.'
