She has performed recently as solosit and ensemble member with Baltimore Opera, Washington Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Washington Concert Opera, Northern Virginia Opera Theater and Lancaster (PA) Opera companies. Mrs. Schmidt enjoys performing art song repertoire as well as operatic, theater and newly composed works. Carmen’s vocal training has taken her from the Mid-Atlantic to the Southeastern United states as well as Florence and Siena, Italy.
