You might remember the Mario Kart party that GigMasters’ client Sheila planned for her son a little while back. Well, this time it was her daughters’ turn to pick her favorite character to help celebrate her special day, and the result was positively purrfect!

Kayleen requested a Hello Kitty theme for her 6th birthday pool party bash and even had an outfit to match! The party planning began with creating the guest list and when Sheila noticed that there was an even number of boys and girls; she decided to incorporate some of Hello Kitty’s friends into the theme. Badtz Maru and Chococat added a bit of boy flair to the party. They made an appearance in some of the tasty treats and décor.

With the help of her cousins, Sheila transformed her home into a Hello Kitty wonderland. She focused on the main Hello Kitty colors - pink, purple, red and yellow and also used themed accents. Food and drink labels, cupcake covers, centerpieces and decals consistent with the theme were easy to find online. She purchased a life sized Hello Kitty balloon from EBay and had Party City inflate it on the day of the celebration. She found plain pink and black gift bags, and she decorated them with Hello Kitty characters so she could use them as goody bags. Inside the bags children found Hello Kitty and friends themed trinkets. The favors included everything from lanyards and bubbles to lollipops and bubble gum. The goody bags were an exciting treat for the guests.

Expert GigMasters client, Sheila, knew just where to look to find a special guest for her daughter. Costumed character, Celebrations Sensations, Inc. (Los Angeles, CA), provided the birthday girl with a visit from Hello Kitty herself. She played games with the children and even performed a magic show! She was able to twist a few balloons for the guests and take photos before departing.

“It was difficult to incorporate the Hello Kitty theme into the pool party activities” Sheila told us, so she decided it was best to keep them separate.  There was an outdoor setup for pool related activities such as coloring beach balls and creating sand art pictures. In the pool the children found fun inflatables to play with before it was time to bust the Hello Kitty piñata and cut the cake!

Multiple cupcake towers, chocolate covered pretzels, pink chocolate covered marshmallows and a Hello Kitty decorated ice cream cake completed the dessert table. Before the children were allowed to dive into those delectable sweets, they were served chicken fingers and french fries. Adults enjoyed Mediterranean style cuisine while watching the children have a blast during Kayleen’s Hello Kitty birthday event.

When asked about her party, Kayleen cheerfully explained that “it was the best birthday ever!” This party shows us that a little inspiration and a few DIY projects can go a long way when planning your child’s birthday party!
