It turns out that even Google uses GigMasters to search for live entertainment. Google has a legendary reputation for treating their employees exceptionally well. Googlers are expected to work hard and in return they get some amazing perks (feeling tired after a long day of coding? How about a massage?). I've always imagined that Google throws some pretty awesome parties. Now we have photographic evidence to prove it!
Last week Googlers from all over the world attended a multi-day event at the beautiful Resort at Squaw Creek, nestled between the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe, CA. When it came time to find a fun band to rock the party, Google came to the party experts: GigMasters. We led them to Jumpstart, an amazing five-star cover band from South Lake Tahoe, CA. As you can tell from these photos and the video below, Jumpstarts is a high-energy group who know how to get the party going. They cover everything from classic rock like Tom Petty, to new hits by Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, with a healthy dose of 80's guilty pleasures in between. When they sing "Everybody Dance Now", they mean it!
Jumpstart had the crowd of around 200 Google employees dancing under the stars all night. Stan Freeman, Jumpstart's bass player and vocalist, told us that playing this event "was certainly a great privilege. We had the dance floor packed for the entire duration of the show and audience participation with the band was hilarious and so much fun. What a great bunch of fun people to perform for." The feeling was clearly mutual as the audience had nothing but compliments for the band. Here's an excerpt from the 5-star review that Leanne M., the Google employ who booked Jumpstart, left on the band's Press Kit:
JumpStart made our party so much fun! They are high energy, have a great playlist and sound incredible! They are so talented and everyone had the time of their life. I can't thank the band enough for not only being professional and easy to work with, but amazing performers!
When the show finally wrapped up (a few minutes after curfew) everyone agreed that it was a night to remember. We've always said company parties can be a ton of fun. This video proves us right! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0etLqer1q-8 Big thanks to Jumpstart and the fine folks at Google for letting us use their photos. And for throwing such an awesome party!
