ROOTOLOGY , featuring Wanamaker Lewis (guitar/banjo/vocals), Larry Feldman aka Eli Felton (guitar/mandolin/violin/vocals, Larry Cohen (bass, vocals. keyboards) and Chuck Lindsay, ( drums, percussion, vocals) is one of Phlladelphia's best Known and versatile Americana bands, and has played the following venues as either main or opening act for such artitst as Asleep at the Wheel, Steel Drivers, Big Sandy, Jim Lauderhill, Sam Bush and others. ...Ardmore Music Hall, Sellersville Theatre, Phila Folk Fest, Merlefest, The Local, Fergies Pub, Milkboy, Tin Angel, and similar venues in the Pennsylvania/NewJersey/Delaware/Maryland/DC/New York area. We also play private functions, such as parties, weddings, corporate events, etc.
Although we have been called "Americana", we also play the following genre's:
Blues, Folk , Rock, Folk rock, Country, Western Swing, World music, Bluegrass, Jazz, Swing, Gypsy, Be-bop, Old time, classic rock, Jam-band, Alt country, and more.
We take a flexible approach to our performances. We are basically an expandable or contractible quartet - we have performed solo, duo, trio, quintet, sextet and up, depending on the needs of the performance. We also play with a variety of singers/songwriters/instrumentalists, including Meghan Cary, Peter Farrell, Arlyn Wolters, Enie Tokay, Autumn West and others
We cover the waterfront. You will look long and hard to find any band that can do Paul Butterfield, Flatt and Scruggs, Jerry Garcia, Miles Davis, the Beatles, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder or Rhianna.
Although we are a basic quartet, we ocasionally team up to feature other performers , such as The Lewis Brothers, Megan Cary and Peter Farrell, Mark Cosgrove, Kicking down Doors, Arlen Walters and others. Inquire about such extra value added quintets and septets.
