A professional musician, composer and entertainer since 1993, Dan McClerren has produced seven Cds of his own soft, relaxing instrumental music. During the late 90s and early 2000s he and his wife traveled nationally and performed live at fine art festivals where they sold over 75,000 copies of his music. Originally inspired by New age piano artist George Winston, David Lanz, and Liz Story, Dan took up piano at the age of 30 and began to compose his own music in the late eighties. His earliest work, a Christmas CD entitled Let There Be Light, features light and joyful instrumental holiday favorites and was played thoughout the '93 holiday season at the San Diego Zoo. While working with acclaimed professional producer and performer John Bergeron on his best selling album Planetary Paradigm he began doing live performances at Retirement homes and senior living facililies around the Denver area on keyboards with background arrangements. In 1995 he first discoved the electronic wind instrument and began developing extensive backing tracks to perform Big Band music from the 30s, 40s, and 50s. Dan's live performances at the retirements communities has been widely appreciated and continuing today he perfoms approximately 40-50 one hour shows per month thoughout the metro area. Thoughout the years he has also done numerous private parties, weddings, and corporate events. Planetary Paradigm and his third album Living From the Heart have been used extensively as backgrounds, intros, and themes for TV and radio programs around the globe. The more recent CDs, Celtic Tranquility, and Celtic Passion feature soothing instrumetal Celtic styles which have been used by massage therapists and many types of healing practicioners throughout the US. During more recent years McClerren has also added the hammered dulcimer, and the Irish low whistle to his skills and the hammered dulcimer has become a favorite at his performance playing livey bluegrass and Irish tunes in his one man band format. As an acoustic guitarist since the age of 14, he has been developing his vocal skills and preparing to play tunes from the 60s and 70s which he grew up with for boomer generation seniors.
