WAYNE JOHNSON bio *Studied at Berklee College of Music in the 70s *Formed "Wayne Johnson Trio" and joined "Manhattan Transfer" in late 70s... touring worldwide 20 plus years. *Released 6 Trio cds of original music, 2 solo acoustic cds & several compilations of original solo acoustic arrangements as a tribute to the song books of: Henry Mancini, Burt Bacharach, Leiber & Stoller & Cole Porter on Solid Air Records *Performed on dozens of other artist's recordings worldwide. *Has toured and recorded with Manhattan Transfer, Rickie Lee Jones, Natalie Cole, Bette Midler, Henry Mancini... to name the main few. *Started studying solo acoustic guitar in the early 90s opening up for John Tesh, whom offered Wayne's first solo acoustic recording contract on Polygram. *3 year run with the Bette Midler group at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas *Performed in concert with Tommy Emmanuel & Doyle Dykes *Won a Grammy for "Pop Instrumental Album of the Year" in 2005 for his solo acoustic inclusion on the 2004 cd "Henry Mancini: Pink Guitar" *Wayne's solo acoustic cd "One Guitar" was listed #2 out of the "top 20 acoustic guitar recordings to own" by Jazziz Magazine *WJ has been a fan of, and involved with...Taylor Guitars since the mid 90s becoming a bona fide clinician in 2005.
