Originally from Derby in England, Laurence Mckenna came to the U.S. in 1992 at the age of 20,
where he began to play music professionally in Pittsburg PA.
After honing his skills as an acoustic soloist, Laurence moved to the Washington DC area to continue performing live. Laurence has an uncanny ability to sound just like any artist he covers, and his vocal range can flatter any melody.
As well as performing solo, Laurence fronts a popular British band named Shag; they have released two CD’s and play extensively in the Washington DC area. (also see gigmasters website for Shag)
Laurence has performed at over 2000 gigs throughout his career. Playing covers and originals Laurence has enjoyed great success, and regularly plays three to four times a week.
