I have worked for 30 years as a professional violinist and have played at hundreds of events and private parties. I consider myself a musician/entertainer, and am an ideal choice for a festive occasion. Hiring a performer with good energy, charisma, and a happy attitude is so important: "People listen with their eyes!" Party guests enjoy being in the presence of engaged, relaxed musician, who can make eye contact and guess what they want to hear next. I enjoying playing a mix of classical music, pop songs, folk and world music, fiddle tunes, both bluegrass and Celtic, jazz standards, and gypsy music. For wedding ceremonies, I do most all the "top 40" classical pieces; although my Gigmaster's rating is 5.0, I am not necessarily the top classical player among Gigmaster violinists, so if you are an aficiando, and want a "Joshua Bell," hire another player. But during the actual wedding ceremony, experience is valuable: knowing not only what to play, but when to play it and when to stop is essential. Timing is everything. Unusual requests are sometimes possible: if you have a current pop song or obscure piece that you would like played at your wedding, it may be possible for me to learn it, or write it out and arrange it, if the music is not available anywhere.
