"You sound like an angel when you play your violin," one of my fiercest competitors exclaimed. "I think we'll call you Golden Fingers," my client decided after hiring me to play a 'little concert.' "You just make it look so effortless...so flowing and rich," one of my quartet members noted. For me, the music comes straight from my soul and I am merely a conduit of the melodies which have poured from my fingers for over 30 years. Services include: Solo violin, String Duo (Violin/Guitar or pretty much any paring you require), String Quartet or String Trio. Groups are versatile and play classical, pop, blues/jazz as required. We can also amplify our instruments for bigger sound. A classically trained violinist, I play with a rich, natural sound. Adept at a myriad of styles including Classical, Celtic, Popular and/or Blues/Jazz, I can perform pretty much any song or for any event...whatever you need! Adept at Improvisation and skilled at Strolling Violin as well, my repertoire includes any classical, Celtic, Jazz/Blues or Popular piece you might request. As a young child playing along with my Mother's large German family I learned to play with just about any instrument and improvise just as easily. Playing violin came as naturally to me as walking. My playing reflects that warm and relaxed style. At age 7 I began my violin training with Elizabeth Chapman and the Chapman Youth Ensemble. I began performing solos, duets and other small ensemble string music on stage as young as 8. During the summer Ms. Chapman accompanied her best students to Dorset, England to study with Hungarian-born violinist, Kato Havas. With Kato I learned more about how to make the music an integral part of myself. From there I went on to study with such 'greats' as Dorothy Delay from Julliard; Izaak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman and Issac Stern at the Aspen Summer Music Festival. I have toured the United States and Europe with varied ensembles such as the Chapman Youth Ensemble and the United States Goodwill Chorus and Orchestra with whom I was the Concert Mistress. My Celtic fiddle skills were honed performing as a contract musician with Colonial Williamsburg for 20 years.
