Wedding CeremonyReviewed on July 7, 2011From Portland, OR

Deborah did an outstanding violin performance for our home wedding. We had a mixture of classical, standard, and jazz, which showed her versatility. She is kind, punctual, and a true professional. I would hire her again for future special events.

Anniversary PartyReviewed on September 15, 2010From Lincoln City, OR

Deborah was a very talented asset for our wedding. She can play anything you want. She was on time and there were no issues with her at all even after her two hour travel to get to the event. I would definitely recommend her to others in need of awesome entertainment.

Community EventReviewed on July 2, 2012From Chicago, IL

We booked Deborah for Grand Roll-Out Celebration hosted by Sbarro. Deborah did a wonderful job playing classic Italian music and contemporary songs for our guests to enjoy. Deborah played terrific music and was a wonderful vendor to work with. We couldn’t be more pleased and we would definitely recommend Deborah as a solo musician for your event.

Corporate FunctionReviewed on April 5, 2011From Portland, OR

Deborah was extremely accommodating of our long decision process and ever changing performer needs for a corporate event we recently held. She was friendly and easy to work with, showed up on time for rehearsal and performance and was very professional. We received many compliments from our guests on the piece she performed. I will certainly think of Deborah again if we have a need for a talented violin soloist or her band!

Birthday Party (Kids)Reviewed on August 30, 2011From Portland, OR

Deborah played her fiddle at my daughter's Little House on the Prairie Birthday Party. She was friendly, accommodating and easy to work with. She arrived early and prepared. She not only performed well for the guests by even took requests from a mother-in-law. :) Deborah's fiddle playing added the perfect touch to our pioneer gathering. She is affordable too! I would highly recommend Deborah for any event.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on July 14, 2011From Portland, OR

Deborah played at my wedding in the Rose Test Garden in Portland, Oregon. We almost had to cancel her playing as rain threatened but fortunately the skies cleared in time. I didn’t have any specific music requests other than the traditional bride’s march and left Deborah to fill the rest of the time with classic romantic selections. Except for a slight miscue when the bride began her entrance I was not disappointed with either her music or professional manner. She even played for us while we took pictures after the ceremony! We communicated clearly and she responded to emails and phone calls in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to hire Deborah again.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on January 12, 2010From Portland, OR

Deborah was very pleasant to work with. She played songs during the processional for our wedding, and a special song during the lighting of the unity candle and communion. She sounded good from the room that I, the bride, was waiting during the processional. I had many comments about how well she did. My only complaint would be that during the communion she didn't play during the whole time, and I felt like there was some awkward silence and then she started back up again...maybe that was a lack of communication about what we expected. Overall she did a great job!

FuneralReviewed on December 16, 2012From Mount Angel, OR

I was disappointed that she got off key at one point playing the violin. She was a pleasant person to talk with and arrived on time.

I am surprised and sorry that the client was disappointed with my playing. In fact, I DID practice before this gig. I know there was one note I played incorrectly for 1/2 a second, due to the poor lighting when I was at the podium. I do apologize for that. I quickly fixed it, as I noticed it immediately. I am not aware of any other poor playing or bad notes. I did receive compliments from two attendees. I have asked the client for more information. I have almost perfect pitch and know when I am playing out of tune. However, maybe he didn't like my playing style or was expecting me to be at the level of a professional symphony violinist.

I had high hopes with Deborah, but spoke too soon. I think she's got potential. She needs more time and training. I heard the same songs several times and was hoping that she would give us a taste of her abilities as a musician. I don't think she has the confidence or the skill level yet. I get the sense that this is a bid to make extra money and I respect that. But you have to be able to walk the talk when people step up to hire you. Especially with a wedding. Best of luck.

I am very surprised to read Jen's comments. The bride's mother, who was my main customer for this gig, was quite satisfied with my performance. She said: "Deborah was a gem. She provided fine live music and was very aware that it was difficult for people to hear her over the noise of all the merry-making. She was accommodating and sensitive to our wishes and not only played the variety of genres agreed upon ahead of time, but she serenaded the parent's table with personal requests in an impromptu performance in her effort to more than fulfill our agreement. Megan and Brian thought their day was perfect in every way. We would love to hear Deborah play again." In fa

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on December 17, 2013From Oregon City, OR

Deborah was pleasant to work with. When gig time came, she had the parts pretty well down, though there was some miscommunication between us beforehand (what the tempos were supposed to be, etc.). I think my requests stretched her a bit, and she was up for the challenge and figured out a way to make it work. She was also very upfront about what she would and would not be able to do within the given time frame. She was also willing to sing a few songs at my request, and she did a good job.
